Too Many Cooks
By Brandon Len
My hometown of Amherst, New Hampshire and Los Angeles are actually very similar. For example, both have a Walmart. They both have a church where people go on Sundays. They even both have a Mobil gas station. However, I suppose moving to Los Angeles has been a slight adjustment. I’ve never lived in a city before, let alone one the size of Los Angeles. Back home, there is one beach you go to. Here, there are an endless amount of beaches to visit. Back home, the only traffic is in the Dunkin Donuts drive thru line. Here, I’ve been told that there is a little bit of traffic from time to time. My living situation also presented new challenges. When I found out I’d be living with three other guys in a small apartment, I was skeptical because it seemed like too many people to share a small place with. As the old saying goes, too many cooks can spoil the broth. However, I’ve become great friends with them all. We go to the jacuzzi all the time, watch movies together, and even bought sombreros together on a Mexican beach. I guess you could say that too many cooks didn’t spoil the broth.
