THE CONNECTED CITY
By Giulia Volterra
LA is huge! Although I’ve only been in LA for two weeks, and I have a long way to go, I feel like there is so much to do here and so little time! Every day, multiple times a day, I’m told about a new place to go eat, or a concert venue or movie screening to check out. There is so much I want to do, and constantly have to think about when I’ll have the time to do it. Between interning and going to class, the week is basically booked, which leaves the weekend to explore Los Angeles. So far I’ve gone to a farmers market, a concert (for my internship!), a hike (to the Hollywood Sign), and, of course, out to a lot of restaurants. Sometimes I get nervous that I won’t be able to take advantage of all the city has to offer, but when I realize how much I’ve done in the past two weekends alone, and how much more time I have left, I think if I am organized and can plan well, everything can get done! Los Angeles seems like such a large city, but after only two weeks I’ve met so many people who are connected to so many others in the city, I’m confident by the time May rolls around it will feel very small.
