Take a Hike
By Adela Hadzic
Los Angeles. We’re more than halfway into our semester and this city is everything and so much more than anything I could have ever dreamt of. It’s such a weird place, honestly. A few weeks into your life here you’ll start to realize that you’re living a very different life than you previously did, and that’s kind of amazing. You never know what’s around the corner here, and I think that’s part of the magic. This is the place where you actually start to believe that you can bring some of your most ridiculous and far-fetched goals closer to reality.
That being said, things get pretty crazy pretty quickly. When things start moving, there’s constantly something going on and it’s easy to get caught up in some of it. One of the highlights of my time here has been taking every opportunity to explore my surroundings. YOU’RE SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAINS. Go hiking. I have yet to stumble upon a view that isn’t incredible, and you knock a workout out of the way. And for me, a good hike often serves to blow off some steam and bring me back to reality. It just takes one gorgeous view of the city to make you appreciate where you are.
