Four words: Los Angeles is amazing! I knew I made the right decision coming here as soon as I checked the weather forecast back in Syracuse when I arrived at LAX! The weather here is gorgeous every day. I have never found an excuse to stay inside my apartment. I’m always exploring whether it’s a quick trip before class to Six Flags Magic Mountain or taking a hike up to the Wisdom Tree and enjoying the sights of the nearby studios.
I have traveled to California a few times for vacation, and I can say I’ve done all of the touristy things on those trips- except one. I have never been to Universal Studios. Since we live a stones-throw away from the park, a few of us decided to get annual passes. They have a collection of fun rides and an awesome, 45-minute studio tour that takes you on the Universal Studios backlot! It’s by far the best attraction in the park, besides Transformers: The Ride 3-D. Aside from rides, the park has well-themed areas catering to popular movies and TV shows. My personal favorite area has to be the brand new Simpsons-themed area, Springfield! I visited the park the first day Springfield was open to the public and it is amazing! There are various restaurants and familiar locations from the TV show including Krusty Burger, Moe’s Tavern, and Lard Lad Donuts! I felt like I was in Matt Groening’s crazy world!
I am really enjoying Los Angeles and taking everything in that this place has to offer! From quick hiking trips to day long adventures at theme parks and TV show tapings, this place provides non-stop fun!
