Is it too cliche to say I’ve been waiting for this my whole life? Whatever, it’s true. Since I began applying to colleges, I knew I had to do a semester in LA. I’ve had LA on a pedestal for as long as I can remember – and now that I’m finally here, I am so glad to say it’s lived up to my expectations. The SULA semester has given me so many amazing opportunities that I would never be able to experience on my own. I got the chance to go to the Grammys, go to a sitcom taping, and I landed an internship that I will remember forever as my first real-life peek into what my future will (hopefully) look like.
LA as a whole is more than I ever imagined it would be. It may take over an hour to get to the beach from where we’re staying, but there are a million and one things to do besides that. Comedy clubs, TV tapings, hiking, shopping, sightseeing, and for some reason more donut shops than you would ever expect for a city that’s so obsessed with kale. But I think my favorite part is that everywhere you go, everything has to do with film and TV. It’s so unique for a whole city to share the same love and passion. Only one more semester at Syracuse and I’ll be back for you, LA!
