It’s Stupid, But We Love It

It’s Stupid, But We Love It

By Sebastian Dawson

The rapid and unceasing advancement of technology puts a strain on the creative talents of those who wish to harness it. Nowhere is that statement more true than at B2+, where I am an intern. Just as my grandma needs me to explain how to answer emails on her iPad every week, so I look to those younger than myself to explain new trends like Periscope, and Meerkat, and why anyone would want to watch me live-stream my trip to the grocery store. But those services are here to stay, and the more we stay on top of them as business professionals, the easier it is to take advantage of them. Don’t fall behind. Find the newest social media platform available and make your presence ironclad. Get on all of them. They’re going to be weird, and sometimes it feels like the intelligent world is trapped in a downward spiral towards inanity and cat videos. But when the revolution comes, and a group of tweens are presenting their ideas for a crowd-funded music video starring Chief Keef, Andy Milonakis and a Bentley in space, you’ll be on the right side of the table. You might think it’s funny. You’ll definitely know it’s stupid. But you’ll be ready.
