Dually enrolled Newhouse students and Syracuse University students enrolled full time and in good academic and judicial standing who wish to apply for the SULA Semester program must also submit a Home College Approval form. Single enrolled Newhouse and VPA Bandier students do not need this form.
Students should consult with their program department chair, advisor, or home college records coordinator, to plan a combination of Los Angeles based classes and online Arts & Science classes that is right for their program of study.
Dually enrolled Newhouse/AS students must meet with an Academic Advisor in 323 Hall of Languages to discuss their remaining degree requirements. Additionally, it is strongly recommended that you also meet with your Major Faculty Advisor to discuss your remaining major requirements.
Prior to meeting with an A&S Academic Advisor, you should take the SULA Home College Approval Form to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities in 310 Steele Hall so that they can fill out their portion of the form. Additionally, you must fill out a Petition to the Faculty indicating in detail, why you would like to participate in this program and the courses you plan to take while studying in LA. Please bring that petition, along with your SULA Home College Approval Form to your meeting with the A&S Academic Advisor. Your completed SULA Home College Approval form will then be forwarded to the Associate Dean for review and approval. This review process will take 3 – 5 business days.
Drop in hours to meet with an A&S Academic Advisor are Monday – Thursday from 8:30AM-11:30AM and from 1-4PM and on Friday’s from 1-4PM.
