I came to Los Angeles for the first time my sophomore year of high school and immediately fell in love. The weather was amazing, the beach was a quick drive away, and my hair was fabulous without the New York City humidity (surprisingly a very important factor). I always thought this was the place I would end up living after graduation. I had literally been waiting for this semester since I first got to Syracuse; the semester I would determine for good which coast I would end up on… but it’s not exactly ending up to be such simple and straightforward decision. Plot twist… I actually miss the east coast! Such a thought never even crossed my mind; that I would actually miss fall jackets and a refreshing breeze. Don’t get me wrong though, Los Angeles is amazing. It just isn’t the instant decision I thought it would be.
The fact that I’m indifferent about where I would like to end up is actually a huge weight off of my shoulders. It gives me more job opportunities and zero disappointment if I don’t end up working in a certain place. There are upsides to everywhere but it’s all about finding the advantages and making the most of them. As of this semester, Los Angeles is home and I’ve definitely been making the most of it. I came to college for wonderful opportunities like these and it finally seems to be worth it. Next semester, Syracuse will be home again. After graduation, who knows where I’ll call home but I’m looking forward to whatever adventures I find there!
