Follow The Yellow (Dirt) Road?

What’s the first thing you think of when you think of LA? Ocean? Food trucks? Celebrities? How about the endless nature parks and hiking trails? Since we all moved out here 4 weeks ago I’ve already been on about five pretty extensive hikes, and the views that I’ve seen are incredible. Being a CNY native, I’m no stranger to a good hike, but usually the hike is through the forest and ends with a beautiful overlook of a waterfall or lake. Not the case here in LA! Out here, once you reach your summit, be prepared for mile-long views. Sometimes being down in the valley or driving through Hollywood every day can have me feeling a little bit trapped, so the mountains are the perfect place to escape and clear my head after a busy week, not to mention gain a little perspective. Not only this, but you might catch a glimpse of a celebrity or two- but let’s be honest, they’re everywhere out here. All I have to say is that my favorite thing since moving out here has not been all of the delicious restaurants, free movie screenings or sitting in traffic for two hours every day, but the hikes, and I strongly encourage anyone who has the chance to take one to do so. Go ahead, take a hike.
