The SULA semester was huge factor in my decision to come to Syracuse, and I have to say, this experience has been more than I could have bargained for. I had no idea what I was entering into in terms of the opportunities that I would be exposed to or the connections I would make. All of my experiences so far here have been enthralling to say the least, and I am so thankful to have had this opportunity.
Since high school, I’ve constantly been asked the question, “what part of the entertainment industry do you see yourself in?”, and I have always tried to put together a somewhat wishy-washy answer that I thought sounded good, whether it was editing or casting. But now I have realized, as long as I take in all the amazing opportunities around me and try to get my feet wet in every aspect of the entertainment industry, it’s okay that I don’t know exactly what I want to do. Through my classes and extremely hands-on internship, I am learning so much about all the different components of the industry that I know will have tremendous value in the next stages of my life.
I have also realized that I am entirely capable of living in the city of my dreams, which has probably been the most exciting part of the process for me. From weekend hikes, to getting tickets to Jimmy Kimmel, to even riding a few roller coasters at Universal if I have a few hours to kill, I love everything about LA. I can’t wait to move out here after graduation and take everything I’ve learned with me along for the ride.
