My journey to L.A. was great. I drove cross-country from Buffalo, New York all the way here to Los Angeles, California. This was a goal of mine to do at some point in my life and I thought of a no better time then to do it for this semester. Plus, it was the cheapest way to get here!
Why I say, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” is for reasons upon my arrival in Los Angeles. When arriving, I was alone. I did not really know anyone, within the program and the city itself, I still did not have an internship, I was low on funds (and still am), and I needed to get a part replaced on my car already. I was stressed. I didn’t want to be here despite how beautiful it was at the time. However, as I am learning, and as you all will learn, life happens. You will have things that happen to you that weren’t expected and you will learn things do not happen overnight. In time, however, things will fall into place. I now have a (paid) internship, I have replaced the part on my car with the help of my parents (ASK FOR HELP, YOU WILL GET IT), I have met so many people that have introduced me to other people that I know inevitably will help me along in my career that I also hope to help one day, and I am constantly doing new things everyday!
Life is a journey, it won’t always be pretty, but take a lesson from everything you and everything that happens. The greatest thing that I have learned is not to stress over something that you will have to eventually get done regardless! Don’t worry, be happy.
