COMMUTER TO FULL-TIME

COMMUTER TO FULL-TIME

By Max Goldstein

Being from Newport Beach, California, I had the privilege of being introduced to Los Angeles very early on. Growing up, I would take family day trips to LA a couple times a year and see sports games and concerts every now and then. Starting my freshman year in college, I became a little more exposed to Los Angeles by commuting during the summers for internships. I have had internships in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Burbank, but due to commuting, I never got the true experience of what it is to live and breathe the LA culture. Now, being a senior and studying in the LA semester for Syracuse University, I finally have been given that opportunity. Working now my 6th internship in Los Angeles, and having relatively easy access to anywhere I want to go, I have been immersed in the culture, have built many new networks and relationships, and have realized that this is the city I want to work in post-graduation. I have explored the biggest music markets in the world, such as New York City, London, Nashville, Boston, Chicago, Austin, and Atlanta, but nothing quite measures up to LA. Los Angeles is an incredibly diverse, creative, and opportunity-based place to work and live, and I am excited and prepared for the next steps ahead in my educational and professional career.
