LA is definitely not for everyone, however after living in Florida for ten years, this heat is nothing I can’t handle. Have you ever lived in Florida? It’s either blazing hot or it’s pouring rain. There’s no in between. Personally, Cali is perfect for me. It’s not too hot (as Florida), and it barely rains. It’s honestly a win-win situation if you ask me. The food? It’s just great. I’m Korean, and Ktown is literally 10-20min away; I’ve been eating Korean food almost everyday. Go for their lunch special, they have some great deals. I really don’t know what else to ask for. People complain about the gas prices. Solution: download “Gas Buddy” App. Boom. You’re welcome. Yes, the traffic is horrible, but if you find yourself jamming to your favorite songs in the car, you’ll be home in no time. The only thing that bothers me would be the cost to live in LA, it really helps to have some friends living in Cali who will let you stay with them for cheap.
Currently, I am loving my internship at 10th St Entertainment which is an artist management company working three days a week. It’s definitely doable to take classes, have internship, groceries/food, and have time your social life. I moved about 10-15 times in my life, so moving to LA was not hard of an adjustment. (Anywhere is better than Syracuse..) If there is an advice I have for anyone: never stay doing something you don’t like doing. This applies to pretty much anything you do in life including your internship. If you are not happy with it, I say just find a different one. Everything happens for a reason and it will make your life much more simple.
