It was Oscar Sunday and I’m not talking about Sesame Street (shout out to Kelvin Read). A bunch of us were watching in one of the Oakwood apartments, and the tensions were high. In the past years, I had watched the Oscars on and off, only half paying attention. But this year, we were part of this world and it was important. This year, all of us had seen most of the films, because if you don’t, you’re irrelevant. If you don’t have an opinion on the films, you’re irrelevant. There’s no way someone who is passionate about the entertainment industry can go to LA and not feel even more passionate. It’s everyone’s expertise and it pushes an LA newcomer to consume everything just to keep above water. Los Angeles is more intense than I thought but also more inspiring. Basically, if you want to find out whether you’re passionate enough about film and television, come to LA and if you’re not terrified than you’re meant to be here. YEAAAAA!!!! P.S. I beat Dan Fabi in the Oscar Pool.
