Program Overview

Welcome to the website of the Syracuse University in Los Angeles Semester.

The SULA Semester is a one semester program that provides students with a unique opportunity to take entertainment industry related academic courses while working part time as interns at a vast array of media companies.  Our students gain a real world perspective by experiencing what it is like to live in Los Angeles and work in their field of interest.

The heart of our program is our dedicated faculty, all of whom are highly talented professionals.  They bring their knowledge, insight, and enthusiasm for teaching to class every day.  The soul of the SULA Semester belongs to our passionate alumni who generously give of their time to support our program. Our students have many opportunities to meet and talk with alumni (some of the top decision makers in the business) who are currently working in the entertainment industry.  Many industry professionals participate in our program as guest speakers, panelists and mentors.

We take a have a very hands-on approach in our program.  We will meet one on one on campus with each student who is accepted to the program to prepare for their arrival.  In particular, we gain a sense of what kind of internship might be a good fit so we can start work on matching each student with an internship opportunity.

Our beautiful new facility has classrooms with a complete complement of audio and video capabilities and houses administrative offices for our program as well as the departments of Engagement, Development and Admissions.

The SULA Semester also provides our students with one of a kind invitations to many alumni social events, TV show tapings, awards shows, industry events and screenings.

Students live at an apartment complex that provides furnished apartments along with a long list of amenities and activities.

If you are interested in joining us for what our SULA Semester graduates say is the “one of the best experiences of their college life” join us at our next information session.  The date and time will be on the home page of our website.  While you are there please explore our website, our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter.

I am proud to be an SU grad myself and I am honored to be a part of this great program.  I look forward to greeting each and every one of you soon in Los Angeles.
