As expected, Los Angeles is the place to be. From classes to my internships to just living here, I am learning so much while also having one of the greatest experiences of my life. It’s eerily similar to my semester in London — I learn something new about this city and this culture every day, just by being here. This semester is a crash course in the entertainment industry and on the city of Los Angeles.
My classes are teaching me more than I could have ever imagined. From TV Nation to Business to Writing, I’m getting an education that I can apply in my internships and vice versa. All of my professors have years of experience and are incredibly approachable. In my classes, I have met people in the film and television industries who I can only hope emulate a career similar to theirs. My internships are both amazing opportunities — even just answering the phone at Perfect Storm or sitting in on a development meeting at Discovery teach me more than being in a classroom back in snow filled Syracuse could.
The expensiveness, the driving (THE DRIVING), the anxiety of applying to internships, are all just as awful as you’d think. But you can’t let that deter you from coming out here. The SULA semester is incomparable and will give you incredible experiences for your future.
